Huntington Park, CA (November 12, 2019) – Last Friday, November 8th, a pedestrian was struck and killed at the intersection of Pacific Boulevard and Belgrave Avenue in Huntington Park. The fatal incident took place at approximately 10:00 p.m.
Officials stated that the victim, identified only as a young woman, was struck by a white Ford sedan. As emergency responders descended upon the scene, they found the victim suffering serious injuries. She was immediately transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
According to authorities, the driver of the Ford did not stop at the scene but continued north on Pacific Boulevard following the collision. The incident remains under investigation.
We would like to offer our condolences to the family of the victim at this time.
According to recent reports, a person is hit and killed by a vehicle nearly every two hours. In fact, pedestrian accidents in California have been confirmed to make up 11 percent of all car accident-related deaths in the state. These disparaging statistics are often due to the tremendous vulnerability of the victim at the time of impact.
Deadly accidents can happen at almost any time, ending in not only the tragic pain and suffering of losing a loved one but the immense affliction of high expenses, as well. Although it may be challenging, it is extremely important for bereaved family members to know that they may have significant rights at this time.
