Huntington Beach, CA (January 29, 2020) – Police have confirmed the identity of the man who was struck and killed in a bicycle accident that occurred last week on Sunday, January 19th in Huntington Beach. According to authorities, Adam Nickelson, 30, of St. Paul, MN, was hit and killed in the collision on Beach Boulevard at approximately 11:55 p.m. that night.
Officials stated that Nickelson was riding his bicycle alongside the roadway when he was struck by a 2016 Honda Civic. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found Nickelson unresponsive. The victim was immediately rushed to UCI Medical Center where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on January 23rd.
The operator of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and there has been no word concerning any charges at this time. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Adam Nickelson at this time.
An overwhelming majority of bicyclists who were struck and killed by vehicles were found to be men over the age of 40, according to research. Nevertheless, irrespective of gender or age, bicycle accidents in California, like anywhere else, are often inclined to end with catastrophic or fatal wounds simply because of the immense vulnerability of the victim. Devastating collisions can occur at nearly any time and any place, leaving victims and their loved ones with terrible pain and suffering, as well as high and unjust expenses.
