Huntington Beach, CA – 6 Injured Including 4 Children After DUI Crash on PCH

Huntington Beach, CA (September 20, 2019) – A man has been arrested for DUI following a head-on collision that resulted in several injuries on Tuesday, September 17th. The accident happened on Pacific Coast Highway at Seapoint Street in Huntington Beach.

Nicholas Dean Donahue, 38, was traveling along PCH in a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV when he collided head-on with a Hyundai at approximately 4:40 p.m. Donahue was driving with his wife and four children in the vehicle.

Police have now stated that alcohol and an argument with his wife contributed to Donahue crashing the SUV. Emergency medical crews responded to the collision where they transported all four children, identified only as three boys and one girl, to a local hospital. Both Donahue’s wife and the driver of the Hyundai also suffered injuries in the crash.

Donahue was arrested for DUI and three counts of child abuse, among other charges. He was arraigned on Thursday and faces a pretrial hearing on September 27th.

Our thoughts are with all the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recoveries.

Head-on Collisions in California

Unfortunately, more than 3,000 California car accidents resulted in fatalities in 2017 alone, and thousands more ended with minor to catastrophic injuries. Although there are often many different reasons why a collision can occur, you may be entitled to file a claim for compensation in the event that you have been hurt due to the negligent or blatantly reckless actions of another party.

Because of the extremely high costs of medical bills and physical recovery on top of lost wages, many victims will opt to file a claim for financial recompense. It is our belief that anyone who has operated a vehicle in a negligent manner, resulting in the injuries or death of another person, should be held accountable for their actions.
