Many Californians enjoy riding bicycles for exercise or as a mode of transportation. Bicycle accidents, however, tend to be quite serious and catastrophic in nature. When a bicycle and a car are involved in a crash, the bicyclist is very vulnerable to major injuries, including head and neck injuries as a result of the collision. Bicyclists are often thrown from their bikes following impact, which further increases the risk of a negative outcome.
