Arleta, CA (January 21, 2020) – A bicyclist who has now been identified as Jesus Urbina, 36, was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Branford Street in the Arleta neighborhood of Los Angeles. The fatal collision took place at around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, January 19th, in the vicinity of Arleta Avenue.
Officials stated that Urbina was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a Mercedes Benz that was traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Mercedes fled the scene after hitting Urbina.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found Urbina lying in the roadway with critical injuries. They immediately transported him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police are looking for the driver of the Mercedes as part of their investigation into the incident.
